SLA Facilitator- GVSU Tutoring and Reading Center
The SLA facilitator program was implemented to assist students who struggled with certain classes and offer them direct support. I worked as a math facilitator where I worked closely with a university professor to offer in-class support twice a week. I also was tasked with creating my own lesson plans to lead a class session once a week to a class of 10-20 students. Throughout this experience, I had the opportunity to work closely with many students of various backgrounds.
Admissions Ambassador- GVSU Admissions Office
Working as an orientation leader, I was tasked with introducing incoming freshmen to the university. I would spend nearly 8 hours a day with 8-12 incoming students, giving them a tour of campus and assisting them with registering for classes. When this position ended, I was given the opportunity to continue my work in a new position known as admissions ambassador. In this position, I conducted research on other university admissions programs as well as performed outreach to prospective students through phone calls and emails.
